Disaster Proclamation
Pottawattamie County has received a disaster proclamation due to the storms on Friday, April 26. Due to this proclamation, our Informal Review and Board of Review deadlines for 2024 have been extended. This extended session will still only apply to property values as of January 1, 2024. Any damage from this storm will be looked at for the 2025 assessment year. If you have storm damage, please complete the form below to report your damage to our office so that we may review for 2025.

Due to a disaster proclamation, taxpayer may inquire about their assessment, and may also request an informal review of the assessment by the assessor under one or more of the grounds for protest

APRIL 2 - JUNE 5
Due to a disaster proclamation, protest of assessment period for filing with Board of Review

MAY 1-ADJOURNMENT
Board of Review meets each year

JULY 1
Homestead Credit and Exemption, Disabled Veteran Homestead Credit, and Military Service Exemption Sign-Up Deadline

NOVEMBER 1
Family Farm Tax Credit Sign-Up Deadline

FEBRUARY 1
Exempt Property (Religious, Literary, Charitable), Forest Reserve/Fruit Tree Exemption, and Native Prairie/Wetlands Exemption Sign-Up Deadline

APRIL 1
2025 Assessment Notice to be delivered to taxpayer if assessed value has been changed
